Family services are an essential
part of the program and philosophy at BABY'S SPACE. With
a strong focus on relationships, we work to build healthier families
by supporting families, educating and encouraging parents, and
honoring individual strengths and experiences. These
efforts have many positive personal and social outcomes, including
reducing child abuse.
The integration of family services within the childcare setting allows the staff
to support both the child’s development and the personal and educational
needs of the parents.
Our family services include:
- Prenatal program with Doula, childbirth
coaching and education, aimed at healthy pregnancy and
childbirth
- Parent education: based on the award-winning
service STEEP™
(Steps Towards Effective Enjoyable Parenting)
- Home visits: encouraging success
and healthy parent-child relationships
- Seeing is Believing® videotaping
- helping parents discover their strengths
- Family nights to implement informal
support systems through discussions and activities
- Transition funding to enable families
to remain at BABY'S SPACE during times of family economic
crisis
